In the Bakhchisarai region of Crimea, rescuers had to drag a seriously injured tourist across the mountainous terrain for 15 hours (!) after she suffered in one of the dangerous sections of the Grand Canyon, the press service of the Crimean Ministry of Emergency Situations reported on Monday, March 17.

According to the department, rescuers went to the area of the village of Sokolinoye after receiving a signal that the woman had suffered a head injury and was unable to move.

“It took 15 hours and 15 personnel to transport the tourist to a safe place using mountaineering equipment and ropes. The work was complicated by the dark time of day and the difficult relief of the mountainous and forested area,” the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.

The rescuers immobilized the victim and, due to the sharp drop in temperature, used a thermal protective blanket, and then handed the victim over to the medics.

More people were injured in the Crimean mountains in 2024 than the year before. Three people died, 137 people were injured, including 20 children, the Crimean Emergencies Ministry reported earlier.

It is obvious that Russia’s “charitable” influence on the occupied Crimea brings with each new year an ever-increasing harvest in the field of emergency situations and chaos in the organization of rescue operations. Even before the events of 2014, a helicopter was sent to such emergencies if it was impossible to get there by other transport. But the Crimean CSS has never been particularly inventive….
